His continued training in chiropractic includes Dry Needling, Flexion-Distraction, Soft tissue, and the Graston technique. In addition, he has studied and obtained certifications in Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) and Functional Movement Screen (FMS).
In 2018, Dr. Granville’s graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in the field of Exercise Science. As a collegian athlete, Dr. Granville experienced injuries while playing football which introduced him to chiropractic. Through chiropractic care, he was able to recover faster and help stabilize his body to decrease his risk for future injuries. The impact and success of his experiences created a desire to pursue a career in chiropractic so he can help others.
Adam’s family resides just outside of Papillion. He grew up on an acreage with his older brother and sister in which great value was placed on family, spending time outdoors and the responsibility of taking care of various livestock. These experiences helped Adam develop a strong work ethic, a close family bond, and a passion for the outdoors. Science was always a favored subject of the family and helped to pave a path for him and his siblings to pursue careers that heavily involved scientific minds and thinking. His sister is now a Veterinarian in Omaha and his brother is a botanist working all around Nebraska in addition to being a College biology professor.
High School & College Years
Adam attended Platteview High School where he participated in football, basketball, and track all four years. After high school, he became a collegian athlete and played football at Nebraska Wesleyan University. He played five seasons for the Prairie Wolves, was a four-year letter winner, four-year academic all-conference, and was a starter at two positions during his career as a corner and outside linebacker. He balanced his time well between his academic studies and his sports career. During his senior year, he participated in the chiropractic internship program in Lincoln. Adam graduated with high distinction honors in 2018 with his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. After graduation, he moved to Kansas and began his doctorate degree at Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City.
Dr. Granville is trained and certified in dry needling through Master of Dry Needling by Dr. Ken Cooper. The body has trigger points of painful areas or previously injured or strained muscle tissue. Dry needling will reset the biochemical properties so that proper muscle contraction can occur. Therefore, you are out of pain and your body can return to a homeostatic state.
Flexion-Distraction is a researched-based, gentle, safe, and controlled form of traction specifically designed for spinal pain relief. The table looks similar to a standard chiropractic table, but it can flex and side-flex, allowing patients to receive traction relief in a non-weight-bearing fashion.
SFMA is a movement-based diagnostic system in which the patient will listen and talk through movement testing as the doctor progresses. Thus, systematically finding the cause of pain, not just the source. This is achieved by logically breaking down dysfunctional movement patterns in a structured, repeatable assessment.
FMS certifications allow Dr. Granville the ability to predict which athlete or active individual is potentially susceptible to an injury based on physical movement testing. FMS was to develop a screen of movement that would expose body functional limitations, which could in turn lead to an improved proactive approach to injury prevention.
In addition to his education in acupuncture and chiropractic, Dr. Granville also holds Post-Graduate Certifications in:
Dry Needling Level 1 Complete & Level 2 (Dec. 2022)
Selective Functional Movement Assessment
Function Movement Screen
