Meet Massage Therapist, Dawn Wagner

Dawn Wagner is one of the best massage therapists in West Omaha, Nebraska. Meet Massage Therapist, Mitch Johnson

Muscles and movement have always been a part of Mitch’s journey. For nearly 40 years Mitch taught children gymnastics. The foundational skills he used in teaching gymnastics grew into teaching functional movement for many activities. He started helping people who had experienced strokes, dealing with cerebral palsy and various injuries that limited their movement abilities. Movement therapy led him into massage therapy. In early 2004 he graduated from Midwest School of Massage. Later that year he passed the National Board Exam, received his license and began working at Dr. Fry Chiropractic. Eventually working at Dr. Yoo’s Acupuncture Center where he met Dr. Baker. Now at Balanced Body he shares in Dr. Baker’s mission, helping people understand how amazing the human body is and no matter what issue they may have their body wants to be better.

His style of massage is heavily influenced by Myofascial Trigger Point and Myofascial Release. He has attended many seminars and received training in a variety of other bodywork/massage techniques including:

  • Shiatsu
  • Lymphatic drainage
  • Cupping
  • Myofascial release
  • Deep Tissue
  • Stretching
  • Tui Na

Over the years he has helped people with headaches/migraines, frozen shoulders, post-surgical recovery, scar rehab, insomnia, fibromyalgia, stiff neck, low back pain, joint stiffness, any and all aches and pains and limited range of motion.

In 2015 he began training in John F. Barnes Myofascial Release (JFB-MFR) by the end of 2017 he will have well over 100 hours of hands-on education in JFB-MFR. It has become his preferred technique. The technique is deeply relaxing. Releasing tensions new and old. Sessions are slower and more methodical than the traditional Swedish rub-down style of massage, not painful like a Deep Tissue massage and far more effective short term and long term.
